Description:

Mentoring Matters, hosted by Learning and Development, is a space for everyone who is interested in mentoring to come together and explore how they engage in mentorship. Join us monthly as we explore a variety of topics that will allow participants to share their experiences and strategies in mentorship and contemplate how they can learn and grow in how they show up for their mentor relationships. This series is open to all employees at UGA regardless of whether you are involved in an official mentoring role or not.

Authentic Mentorship: Bringing Your Full Self to Your Mentoring Relationship (Guest Facilitated by Courtney Brown, Assistant Director for Student Engagement & Data Management in Recreational Sports) The most impactful mentorships happen when both the mentor and mentee bring their full selves into the relationship. It can be challenging to be vulnerable in a work setting, but leading with honesty and openness can help to foster trust with your mentee. When we bring our full selves to our mentoring relationship, it gives us the opportunity to build a genuine relationship and foster true human connection.
