Description:

Mentoring Matters, hosted by Learning and Development, is a space for everyone who is interested in mentoring to come together and explore how they engage in mentorship. Join us monthly as we explore a variety of topics that will allow participants to share their experiences and strategies in mentorship and contemplate how they can learn and grow in how they show up for their mentor relationships. This series is open to all employees at UGA regardless of whether you are involved in an official mentoring role or not.

Understanding the Spectrum of Helping Roles: Navigating the landscape of professional support roles can be confusing, with mentors, sponsors, advisors, managers, and coaches each offering distinct contributions. This course clarifies these differences, helping you identify which roles focus on guidance, advice, listening, networking, career advancement, skill building, and sponsorship, ensuring you can leverage the right support for your needs and goals.
