Ambassadors

This guide is designed to help you understand what our ambassador program is. Our Ambassadors represent our brand, share our mission and vision, and help inspire their fellow students to engage in the UGA Mentor Program!

What:

Vision

Every UGA student has a mentor in their corner prior to going beyond the Arch.

Mission

Our mission is to strengthen the UGA community by fostering meaningful mentoring relationships between students and experienced Bulldogs through authentic connection, shared experience, and mutual support.

Overview of the Program

Each ambassador will take part in 1 committee (Social Media & Strategic Marketing; Mentee Recruitment and Engagement; Professional Development and Internal Relations; Mentor & Faculty Recruitment & Engagement). Committees will meet throughout the year to plan events and execute new initiatives. Throughout the year, our ambassadors have the opportunity to gain a sense of community; Leadership; Public Speaking skills; Presentation building; Event Planning skills; Professional Development Opportunities; Leaving a Legacy at UGA.

Who:

requirement to apply:

  • Currently or previously connected with a mentor through the UGA Mentor Program
  • Enrolled as an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student at UGA

requirement to maintain ambassadorship:

  • Connect with at least 1 mentor per year (16-week, Circle, or Quick Chat) 
  • Fulfill the required hours (~45 hours/ year)

How:

Application Timeline:

  • January: applications open 
  • February: applications close 
  • March: interviews and decisions

Application Process:

  • Attend an Info Session 
  • Complete UMPA Application, which includes submitting a resume 
  • Complete an in-person interview
