Connecting students with real world industry experience.
As a UGA Alumnus, it is always an honor to help the next generation of Dawgs carve their path in the world. It was a privilege to host Kishamar Joly at Pinellas County Utilities! During her day with us, she learned about how hurricanes impact a utilities department and various financial aspects that are specific to government. She was also able to tour one of our Water Reclamation Facilities to learn where the water from your drain ends up and how everything is processed. She also met with UGA Alumnus and Pinellas County Assistant County Administrator, Blaine Williams, to learn about his role in Pinellas County. Kishamar is a wonderful student who has a bright future ahead of her, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. GO DAWGS! Spring 2026 My matched student was very engaged throughout the day and asked some thought-provoking questions centered around my daily responsibilities and daily workflow. He was genuinely interested in the information that I shared and we also got a chance to connect on a personal level. Spring 2026 We were thrilled to host three amazing students-Catherine Fell, Analise Butryn, and Sophie Lowery at PruittHealth - The Oaks - Athens. The day began with a facility tour and an overview of our services. Each student then paired with their chosen discipline (PT, OT, ST) to gain hands-on insight. After lunch, our leadership team—including the Administrator, Activities Director, Admissions Director, Nurse Supervisor, and Social Worker—shared their expertise and answered questions. These future healthcare professionals were engaged, curious, and eager to learn. We’re proud to support the next generation of caregivers. Fall 2025 On October 16, ApartmentsFor hosted three University of Georgia students through UGA’s Intern for a Day program — a Career Center initiative that connects students with real-world industry experience in a single immersive day. Fall 2025 I was amazed at the preparedness of several of my interns. They came prepared with questions and acted professionally with all my clients. Several of my interns expressed wanting to come back and volunteer at a later date. The Intern for a Day program creates a unique opportunity for individuals to truly see the day-to-day of an industry they are considering as a career. I think this is a game-changer. I highly recommend the Intern for a Day program to students and professionals alike. Fall 2025Impact Stories
