‘Thriving as a First-Generation College Student—A Mentor’s Point of View’ is a program dedicated to uplifting and supporting first-generation students at the University of Georgia. This program aligns with the UGA Mentor Program’s mission of fostering a culture of mentorship at the University, specifically by being inclusive to ensure all students have access to meaningful mentorships. By attending this program, students will:

  1. Learn the importance of mentorship.

  2. Identify resources across the University community to support first generation college students.

  3. Gain a new, more seasoned perspective on life as a first generation student after graduation.
